This photograph/photograph series would be depicting different baseball fields across town all from the exact same point of view, home plate. What would be included in the shot would be the entire baseball field and the surrounding environment that is beyond the outfield fence. This would show how each field although should be the exact same, inevitably are not in many different aspects. The composition I have this picture is standing on home plate facing directly forward towards centerfield, however a view of home plate and the field together in one photograph may portray the idea of "home" better. Depending on the time of day the sky a sun will change the lighting and feel of the photograph as well, so a back and white series may be better. This field is empty, but I feel like photographing a field with actual players and coaches on it would also add to the effect however it would be a bit more difficult to pull off.
I intend this photograph series to convey not only a field where a baseball is played, but where teammates are able to bond, where life lessons are learned, where games are both won and lost, a place that is "Home" to anyone who steps on it. As someone who played baseball for almost 18 years of my life, I dedicated a lot of time to the field to the point when there were times it felt like it truly was my second home. To further deepen this idea of "Home" in this series I was planning on taking the photographs while standing on Home Plate of the baseball field. Although it may not be present in the image I posted above, anyone who knows baseball would be able to tell you thats home plate. Therefore the deeper meaning is present there without being explicitly shown in the photograph.
