This series plays with perspective and illusion, making everyday moments feel a little surreal. By using mirrors, the photos create the effect of looking down into a portal, as if reality has cracked open to reveal another world just beneath the surface. In this shot, my aunt, uncle, and their dog appear to be peering into a hole in the ground, their faces curious and amused. The ornate frame adds to the illusion, making the reflection feel more like a window to another dimension rather than just a mirror. The warm tones and natural lighting help keep the image grounded, even as it plays with the idea of shifting perspectives.
Beyond just being a cool visual trick, this series explores how easily our perception of reality can be changed. A simple mirror transforms an ordinary moment into something unexpected, making you question what’s real and what’s just a trick of the eye. By capturing people and animals interacting with these "portals," I want to create images that spark curiosity and make viewers look twice—because sometimes, reality isn’t as straightforward as it seems.
