Wow, those comix really do have too many words in them. And the colors really are clashing! But it's a magic realist otherworld dripping in weird wordplay and overly specific prog rock merch, and that's very nice to me. Even if I have less of a wall-of-text tolerance than I did in high school (I was a homestuck; I lack discretion) this comic is a devastatingly earnest snapshot of the authors neuroses and hyperfixations. When I read Subnormality I feel like Winston Rowntree's brain is connected directly to mine, and that's what art is all about. Plus there's cute girls in it.
