1. These photographs will include photos of the landscape in the perspective of plants in the garden of my parent’s house. The photos will include plants from the garden such as flowers and vegetables, but also native plants and trees. I also plan to include the front yard’s plants of which wrap around and up the building and lead to the entry way. The photos will be pastel, bright, warm, and comforting, with high vibrance and a lowered saturation.
2. Through middle school and high school, I dedicated myself completely to my studies and extracurriculars. I never really took time to step foot into the garden just outside my window, content to seeing everything from far away, watching my family occasionally take care of it. Junior year of high school I had been struggling to deal with the level of stress school was giving me, so I decided I would finally walk around the garden. In that moment, I realized how much more there is than just sitting and studying in my room for hours at a time. I finally understood why my mom and grandpa had been working so hard taking care of the garden. By color balancing the photo into pastels, I can create a sense of serenity. Taking pictures that include the landscape from the perspective of the plants adds to the feeling of being engulfed by the scene.
