For this photo series I would like to portray the landscape of a university campus through the POV of an student. I would like to encapsulate this "landscape" by shooting at numerous different locations on campus that are easily identifiable by not only the student population but also the general population as well as a college campus. Some ideas for subjects I have for these shots include different hallways and college buildings, the library, science labs, the mall, the student union, university blvd, sports arenas, etc. I think I would use a straightforward composition to let the landscape in the image do the conveying of information. I think that I would like to use color images because a lot of the individuality of our campus and college campuses in general is from the differing color ways and tones of the buildings and their interiors. By being able to capture the similar tones and colors in different areas of campus, id be able to create a cohesive photo series.
I intend this series to convey the hustle and bustle of the college student, while also showing the beauty of the campus we get to call ours. For people who aren't affiliated with the U of A or who did not attend, their portrayal and image of campus is extremely superficial to what they can physically see when they drive by or what has been shown to them through social media. However, the true allurement to campus lies within the confines of the places not accessible to everyone. Therefore through this series i'd like to portray the spaces and environments that intuitively everyone knows are there, but have not physically had the chance to encounter and interact with themselves.
