The main subject of this photograph/photo series would be a Pyrex dish. Pyrex dishes have been around for a long time and are a sort of collectible nowadays than can be found mostly in antique and vintage shops. These dishes come in many different shapes, patterns, and colors that all vary vastly, however all made by the same manufacturer for the same purposes. The composition of this photo would be a centered dish on a surface with minimal background to have the main attention be on the pyrex dish. In this shot I have a green table, however I think a more antique looking surface may give a more vintage feel to the overall photograph. Especially since the pyrex dishes have so much color on their own, a less vibrant colored table would also help to draw more attention to the center of the photo.
I want my photograph to convey a vintage midcentury modern vibe. These dishes are "old" yet in great condition therefore I would love to display their beauty. Collecting these dishes is a hobby that my mom has taken up because of the memories these dishes bring of her family. So I want this photo series to convey not only a hobby that has nicely decorated our house, but an object that brings back the joys of her childhood that she is now passing on to me and my brother. An object that has served food and brought us all together around the dinner table to share each others company and laughter many many times. I may be able to use my dining room table as the surface to further prove/show how the pyrex has brought us together through sunday night dinner. I intend to have warmer lighting to help give the homey/cozy feel as well.
