For this project we were tasked with taking photos of various incarnations of the same subject matter with our own unique touch. For my subject I chose to do the rhinoceros, an animal that has been near and dear to me since the day that I was born. In 2002 when my mother delivered me, the first stuffed animal given to me was a rhinoceros that is still present in my bed to this day. Because of my early connection with this animal passed on to me by my parents, the rhino has been my favorite animal ever since due to the nostalgic feelings it brings me. Over my life my family has helped me to accumulate various different forms and fashions of rhinos that not only show my interest in the creature but also the true beauty of the rhino as well that I am able to put on display. The concept of this project was to portray the rhino as the main subject while also signifying the nostalgic memories that they bring me as I've grown up. To capture the essence of growing up I shot at different locations with different backgrounds of varying significance of my maturing as a person while still allowing for the main focus to be on the rhinoceros. Overall through this project I wanted to take some detailed pictures of my favorite animal, and at the end of the day I think I did just that!
