As someone who also listens to a lot of indie music and has a primarily song-stuck-in-head mode of interacting with music, I really appreciate this blog!
Earworms can be annoying, but there’s something really special about them too. Maybe these won’t be songs that would get lost in everyone’s ears, or top your year-in-review charts, but if you’re an indie-freak like me (alla Fleet Foxes, alla Snail Mail, alla Beach House), they may have a way of squirming and sticking around a while like a friendly little ghost.

Martin's Moths
A blog about various types of moths that's been going for over 15 years and is still active! It's specifically about moths that the blog proprietor spots and takes photos of around where he lives in England, which is pretty fantastic. It's always great to see someone so committed to sharing their passions like this.

Pigeons of War
A blog talking about uses of homing pigeons as messengers in war throughout history going back to antiquity. What a wonderfully specific and interesting blog topic! Seems to be actively updated at time of posting.
I am especially enamoured with the story of Spike, a homing pigeon who flew 52 missions in World War I supposedly without a single injury and was hailed as a huge hero at the end of the war (and enjoyed a blissful retirement in "a special Army loft for distinguished military pigeons.")

Real Monstrosities
A blog chronicling the strange world of "creatures that people normally find too creepy or gross or weird or ugly to care about." Don't click through if you're easily spooked by freaky-looking bugs, sea creatures, invertebrates, etc!

It's horrible from beginning to end, but that's flatworms for you. I can't help but have a sneaking respect for something that looks so incredibly horrible, yet manages to get even worse when you learn more about it. Well done!

Revolutionary Girl Utena liveblog
A read-through and close reading / literary analysis of an anime I like a lot. Some of their readings of the text are a little far out there, which honestly is exactly what the show deserves. I really enjoyed reading through it, and the insights it contains made me look at the show in a different way than I had before.
