Programmer/artist Why the Lucky Stiff (better known for the Poignant Guide to Ruby) disappeared from the internet in 2009 after his real-life identity was revealed. Several years later, he briefly resurfaced with this avant-garde novel / short story collection / metatextual experiment. Surrealist melancholic meditations on programming, identity, tech culture, creativity, etc., and set in the Pacific Northwest. Freely available as a PDF download, highly recommended if you work with computers and feel like staring into the void sometimes.
Antimemetics Division Hub
A lot of SCP stuff doesn't really appeal to me, but for my money this is far and away the best thing on the site. Tells the story of a group of top-secret researchers who study creatures, objects, and ideas that can't be perceived or remembered under normal circumstances. Just very solid science fiction/horror writing. Check it out.
Green Evening Stories
An old webcomic project by David Troupes (more well-known for Buttercup Festival, which is also good).
Sadly, Green Evening Stories remains unfinished to this day, so we shall never know why the girl lost her memory or why all those people want to build a ladder to the moon. Still, the understated storytelling and beautiful watercolor art speaks to something deep within my soul. It's honestly a big influence on me creatively, I wish I could make something this beautiful.
