If the Beatles were a sitcom, what would the little snippets of music that play over the establishing outside shots of buildings sound like? Finally, this burning question that we've all wondered about can be answered.
It's actually shocking how well this effect works on these songs. I'm not sure if it's a quality peculiar to early Beatles songs or if you could do this with other pop albums too...
The creator of this has done this to other Beatles albums as well, spread across various video platforms due to copyright -- A Hard Day's Night is on YouTube, and the rest can be found on their Dailymotion page.

Blog of a person who discusses her thoughts and opinions on the various indie songs that gets stuck in her head.
As someone who also listens to a lot of indie music and has a primarily song-stuck-in-head mode of interacting with music, I really appreciate this blog!
Earworms can be annoying, but there’s something really special about them too. Maybe these won’t be songs that would get lost in everyone’s ears, or top your year-in-review charts, but if you’re an indie-freak like me (alla Fleet Foxes, alla Snail Mail, alla Beach House), they may have a way of squirming and sticking around a while like a friendly little ghost.

Website where you can select a song and it will generate a probabilistically "infinite" version of the song where it jumps back and forth between similar sections of the song. It's pretty impressive how well it works. It effectively simulates the feeling of having a song stuck in your head looping over and over. I'm a big fan.
To play a custom song, select "Pick a song" at the top. For some reason that button doesn't seem to show up on phone so go here to pick a song. Probably my favorite I've found so far is "No Sunlight" by Death Cab For Cutie, since that song is repetitive enough to link together in funny ways, but distinct enough in different parts that it doesn't just sound the same.
[Update: as of 2024/04/09, this site seems to have gone down. People periodically reupload mirrors of the tool though (with varying degrees of 'actually working'), so if I find another mirror of it that works I might update this.]

A cool game. You have to be using last.fm to track your music history, but if you are on last.fm, it takes your top tracks and quizzes you on the lyrics from them -- "what song is this from, who's it by, and what's the next line?" I find it surprisingly compelling, I keep falling into the "ok just one more round" effect. I think I'm pretty decent at it, I can consistently score above 70 on my top 500 all-time tracks. (With all-time top 1000, it gets a bit trickier...)
(if you're not on last.fm -- it's a music-statistics-tracking site that works with any music service (even your local mp3 collection!) and has been around since 2002. I signed up for it a few years ago, it's fun to mess around and look at your stats.)

Well-known YouTube musician Bill Wurtz made this video where he takes a snippet of Paul McCartney talking in an interview and plays chords under it to match the pitches at which he's talking. An enterprising youtubesman named Jonah Myers then took a video of Bill Wurtz talking in an interview and played chords under it to match the pitches at which he was talking. Quite an entertaining idea. Jonah Myers's Youtube channel has lots of excellent original music on it as well -- he hasn't uploaded in a while, but give it a listen!!

My Favorite 15 Second Songs - A Bots of New York Tribute
There's this social media account, Bots of New York, which posts entertainingly nonsensical computer-generated parodies of Humans of New York posts. One of them (facebook link) was this gem:
Seattle-based musical artist "Thee Effluvium" then used a computer text generator to generate the rest of the track list for the double album and recorded the titular 15-second songs themselves. The sound is very 'experimental,' but it's also fantastic and amazing and a triumph. Please listen.
Special shoutout to the tracks Tom is Bigger then Me, Cranky Old Lady Sees The Sun, and A Wave Loudly Crashing Against A Long Shoreline Slips on a Banana Peel.

Jurassic Park - Fingertips Suite (They Might Be Giants TMBG)
They Might Be Giants have this series of very short song snippets on their album Apollo 18. This person has gone through and paired up each short snippet with a clip from Jurassic Park. I don't know why they chose to do this specific thing, but some of their pairing choices are quite clever!

A Japanese commercial for a brand of crispy canned corn, with rock music. Surprisingly catchy. Everybody come to the kitchen and shake it up 'n' go!!
The band responsible for this, Uchikubi Gokumon Doukoukai, has other good videos of similar caliber on their channel as well; this one about not wanting to get out of bed when it's cold is also very good.
